Purpose of the role

Reporting to Deputy Head of Risk and Compliance and will communicate risk policies and processes for the bank. He/She provide hands-on development of risk models involving market, credit and operational risk, assure controls are operating effectively, and provide research and analytical support. Assistant Risk Manager must have excellent quantitative and analytical skills, along with the ability to apply those skills across a variety of business processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting an overall risk management process for the bank, which includes and analysis of the financial impact on the bank when risk occur
• Supporting a risk assessment: Analyzing current risks an identifying potential risks that are affecting the bank
• Supporting a risk evaluation: Evaluating the bank’s previous handling of risks, and comparing potential risks with criteria set out by the bank such as operational requirements
• Supporting the level of risk the bank are willing to take
• Supporting to preparing risk management and reporting tailored to the relevant audience (Educating business heads about the most significant risks to the business and the risk that might affect their departments; enduring individuals understand their own accountability for individual risks)
• Building risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the bank

Skills and Qualifications

• Any Bachelor Degree Holder
• 3+ years’ risk management experience in financial services
• Must have an eye for detail and comfortable working with financial and numeric data
• Proven ability to work accurately under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Must work well in a team oriented environment and quick learner and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures
• Strong working knowledge of MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel
• Must have strong verbal presentation skills
• Must have strong written communication skills
